Heartland Games for Active Adults
The 2012 Heartland Games for Active Adults, formally Heartland Senior Games, took place March 1 – 31, 2012 in Highlands County. Events were open to men and women 50 years and older who competed against other athletes of the same gender and age group. The Heartland Games for Active Adults are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Charitable Foundation and serve as a local qualifying event for the Florida State Games.
The purpose of the Heartland Senior Games is to promote physical fitness, good health, and a competitive spirit among those seniors who live active lifestyles and to inspire those who may not.
The Heartland Games for Active Adults include the following events:
Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Sand Volleyball, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field
