Occupational Certificate
Description of Program:
This program is designed to prepare you to work as a nursing assistant in a hospital, nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or other health care settings. You should be able to provide basic patient care to all age groups in a safe manner. Emphasis is placed on good clinical skills and effective communication. Successful completion of the course permits you to take the state exam for certification. Some weekend hours are required for clinical purposes.
Special Requirements:
- Successfully pass CPR prior to or during the first two weeks of classes to remain in program.
- Score Reading - 8, Mathematics - 8, and Language - 8, on TABE prior to registration.
Length: 180 contact hours / 6 occupational credits
