Administration Building on the Highlands Campus

Each year more than 25,000 people are directly served by programs and services at South Florida State College. Most people find this to be a surprising figure. It means that each year the people who live in DeSoto, Hardee, or Highlands counties enroll in classes, receive helpful counseling and career guidance, attend concerts or athletic events, or in any number of other ways benefit from this College. Whether you are a recent high school graduate pursuing a college education or a citizen dedicated to lifelong learning and personal enrichment, we’re here to serve you. All of us associated with the College are aware of the impact we have on our communities, and we take our responsibility seriously.

Never before in history has the need for continuing higher education been more important. It is estimated that nearly 90% of all jobs, now and in the future, require some college-level education or training. Those who have attended college will have more opportunities for challenging and satisfying careers with greater earnings. But in this ever-changing world, education is a lifelong process. That’s why we’re here for you and we will do what we can to change your life for the better.
