ParaPro Assessment is a computer-based exam that measures the skills and knowledge that prospective and practicing paraprofessionals have achieved in specific content areas and their ability to apply those skills when they assist with classroom instruction. It satisfies the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. The exam consists of 90 multiple-choice questions in reading, writing, and math, and takes approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete.
You must schedule your ParaPro Assessment at least 24 hours in advance. This exam is only offered at the Highlands Campus.
On the day of your exam, bring in a valid form of photo identification. If you do not present a valid ID, your test will be rescheduled. Valid forms of ID are:
- Driver’s license
- State or Province ID Card
- Passport (must have a signature)
- Military ID
- National ID
You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled test time and pay the $70 exam fee.
Once checked in, you will be required to store all electronic devices and personal items in a secure locker prior to and during testing.
Testing candidates are the only ones allowed in the Testing Center; this includes children and guests of the testing candidate. Children are not allowed to be unattended outside of the Testing Center or any other area of the college during testing.
The exam fee is $70.
If you do not pass the ParaPro Assessment on your first attempt, you may retake it in 21 days.
