Creating and Implementing "How To" Tutorials Presented by David Rodriguez and Adam Martin For students who are unable to attend a scheduled face to face orientation, an instructional "How To" tutorial available online 24 hours a day will not only jump start your program and be available to your students when it is convenient for them, but it will also reduce costs and stress associated with numerous face to face new user orientations. Gradebooks Online “HANDS ON”– FULL Tuesday August 1st, 2006 9:40 - 10:30 am (SAME TIME AS NEXT ONE) Presented by Adam Martin and David Rodriguez Gradebooks can increase communication in a course between instructor and student. A current Gradebook allows the instructor to share information with the students. The posting of grades and progress online can increase student comprehension of course progress. By sharing a grading procedure, we will enable teachers and instructional designers to set up guidelines that will aid in student learning and easy grading for instructors.
Planning is the Key! Monday July 31st, 2006 10:10 - 11:00 am Presented by Melanie Jackson and Lyn Latham Planning is the Key to developing a successful online course-this session will describe the 5 keys to create a successful online course development and training program. Some Training time in F2F was using new technology tools (hardware and software), as we went along 40 hour program 5 days at 8 hours each (part theory, part hands on tools, and course creation). We will share with you our successes and changes we plan to make.
New Employees are Special People Presented by Melanie Jackson and Shirley Errico New employees are special people. We want to retain the employees that we invest time and money into training. By ensuring that all new employees on every level attend this training, we increase awareness of the technology options, especially the D2L system and it's capabilities, on our campuses.

We will show you how to Create a quiz and question library from scratch and from publisher resources. We will also discuss various question types, advantages and disadvantages of each, random questions in a quiz, and questions with random answers, graphics and other options. We will set up a quiz and explore options available. |
