SFCC’s Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) is now nearing completion of its first year of operation, and program completers are making their transition to teaching! Your interest in EPI is appreciated, and we are pleased to provide you with information about the program. The documents linked to this page that will help you with your application process include:
· General Information about the EPI Program (a detailed handout which should answer many of your questions about the EPI Program and provides helpful resources). · EPI Application for Admission · Steps in the EPI Application Process (a brief overview of the EPI application process) · EPI Application Checklist (presents a summary of all items that must be provided to be considered for admission to the EPI Program) · Getting Started at SFCC (a summary of how to complete your application to SFCC)
The completed EPI application may be returned via postal mail; however, it is preferred that it be returned by e-mail as an attachment. The SFCC application may be returned to any SFCC campus or be submitted online via the www.FACTS.ORG Web site.
You may also be interested to know that the EPI program qualifies for several types of financial aid to assist students with program expenses including federal student loans, Workforce funding, and Pell Grants. To explore options for financial aid further:
Complete an online FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or call the SFCC Financial Aid Office at (863) 784-7108 for further assistance.
Military veterans or their spouses may be interested in the Troops to Teachers or Spouses to Teachers stipend program. More information can be obtained at www.proudtoserveagain.com or by calling (850) 245-5023.
If you would like to join an upcoming EPI class, it is essential that you begin your EPI and SFCC application processes immediately. The EPI Program entry process has been revised recently. If you are interested in beginning EPI studies soon, it is suggested that you make an appointment to meet with the program coordinator as soon as possible to review the entry process in greater detail. Students accepted into the EPI program may begin their coursework at any point in time during the year and have the flexibility to complete their courses in any order. New EPI courses begin about every five weeks.
