The two types of continuing education programs are occupational license renewal and short-term skills training. License renewal programs provide training courses for individuals who are currently employed and are required to keep their license current through continuing educations. Examples are real estate or insurance. Short-term skills training programs are usually one-half to two day courses designed to upgrade skills in areas such as computer technology, human resource management, communication, and customer satisfaction.
