NURSING (TRANSITION - LPN to RN) ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE (Pending Florida Board of Nursing Approval) Students should consult with a counselor, advisor, and/or university representative prior to enrolling in this program. This one-year academic program is designed for the Licensed Practical Nurse who wishes to become an Associate Degree Nurse (ADN). The program, by building on previously acquired knowledge and skills, provides the student with the opportunity for upward mobility in nursing. The additional knowledge, attitude, and skills complete the Associate Degree Nurse requirements needed to be eligible to take the NCLEX exam for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). The program is appending approval by the Florida State Board of Nursing. This Board has the authority to deny a license to any applicant found guilty of violating Florida Statute 464.018 (Florida Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act - Professional Regulations). Length: One (1) year - 72 semester hours (47 semester hours following the completion of the prerequisites – 25 semester hours) |

PRACTICAL NURSING (LPN) OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE This program is designed to provide classroom theory and clinical experience in nursing skills. The program includes the scientific principles of nursing care common to all patients and the development of the beginning skills necessary to implement a nursing care plan. Guided learning experience in the care of selected patients is provided in community facilities. Upon completion of the program, the participant is eligible to take the NCLEX exam for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. The program is approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing. This Board has the authority to deny a license to any applicant found guilty of violating Florida Statute 464.018, (Florida Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act – Professional Regulations). Length: Eleven (11) months, eight (8) semester hours, 1222 contact hours / 40.73 occupational credits |
