Starting March 1, the Jacaranda Residence Facility will accept applications for housing for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Jacaranda Residence Facility is located in the Hotel Jacaranda, 19 East Main Street, in downtown Avon Park. It is approximately three miles from the Highlands Campus. Residents provide their own transportation to and from the campus.
Eligibility for Housing
Students are eligible for housing if they are enrolled in SFSC full-time taking 12 or more credit hours. Students who receive housing scholarships through SFSC are placed in rooms first. The remaining rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

* Volleyball and Cross Country team members receive a prorated rate based on early arrival in the fall. Rates are determined once the check-in date is determined.
Fall and spring terms consist of one 16-week term or two eight-week flexible terms. Summer term consists of one 12-week term or two six-week flexible terms.
Apply for Housing
To apply for housing in the Jacaranda Residence Facility, follow these steps:

Complete your application for housing and mail it to the SFSC Foundation, Inc., along with the application fee and security deposit. If you have questions about your application, email email@example.com.

Space in the residence facility is limited. Submitting an application with the processing fee and deposit does not guarantee that a room will be available or that you will be offered the type you request.
By submitting an application, you agree to accept the room type that is offered, regardless of the preference indicated on your application.
The $50 processing fee is not refundable. The $250 security deposit is not refundable if you decline a room when offered.
In late June, applicants are notified by email whether they have received a room or have been placed on a waiting list. New students receive this email at the email address they provided on their application for housing. Currently enrolled students receive it through Panther Central. Move-in dates/information are sent the same way.
Students placed on the waiting list may request a refund of their security deposit within a given timeframe and be removed from the list.

You must provide payment in full or show proof of financial aid for payment before you move in. If you do not have proof of financial aid, you must pay the full amount before you move in.
All rooms are furnished with an extra-long twin bed, dresser, desk, and chair for each student. Combination mini-refrigerator/freezer/microwave units can be leased for $20 per month. A limited number are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
