SFCC eL Resources

Resources for Electronic Learning Students

Students may enroll in courses delivered through various distance learning formats at SFCC. eL courses may be delivered via the Internet, interactive satellite, through telecourses, or through correspondence. Speak with an advisor to determine whether or not electronic learning courses are a good fit for you.  A learning style online assessment is coming soon.

As a eL student, you may enroll in courses at SFCC or at another college or university. You will be able to complete the course at a time or location that is most convenient for you. Be sure to visit the following Web sites for information regarding eL options available within Florida.

Florida Academic Counseling and Tracking for Students (FACTS)
FACTS is a statewide academic advising system for all of Florida's postsecondary and electronic learning students. With FACTS, current and prospective students can run an online degree audit to determine degree requirements or track progress towards graduation at their home institution, obtain a listing of the requirements for a particular degree program, and search offerings by institution, subject area, or degree level. FACTS will also enable a student to apply online to multiple schools, view their academic transcript online, access links to college Web pages, catalogs, view books, and take virtual campus tours. FACTS will provide the opportunity to explore eL courses availability online as well. FACTS contains links to college and university resources such as libraries, financial aid offices, and advising services. Students will be able to apply, register and pay fees online, as well as register for electronic learning courses at more than one institution. Check out the FACTS Web site at
www.facts.org for more information.

Florida Distance Learning Consortium
The Florida Distance Learning Consortium enables a student to access an electronic catalog, "Your Course Connection," to locate eL opportunities at all 28 community colleges, 11 universities, several private universities and all SACS accredited private institutions. The consortium strives to maximize access to higher education for all Florida residents by using instructional technology and eliminating the barriers of distance, time, and place. Visit the Florida Distance Learning Consortium electronic catalog at
www.distancelearn.org or the official Website at www.fldlc.org for more information.   For more information on SFCC’s role in the Florida Distance Learning Consortium, contact the SFCC DLC representative, Melanie Jackson at 863-784-7017.
