Four Presidential Candidates Visit South Florida State College
The South Florida State College District Board of Trustees have announced the visitation and interview schedule for the four final candidates for the presidency of SFSC. In addition to candidates’ interviews with the trustees, the schedule provides each candidate opportunities to meet members of the community, SFSC students, and college employees.
Dr. Marie Gnage, president of the University of West Virginia at Parkersburg, will visit SFSC on April 3 and 4; Dr. John Holdnak, executive vice chancellor of the Florida College System, will visit SFSC on April 8 and 9; Dr. Paul Nagy, special assistant to the president, strategic planning and analysis, at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, will visit SFSC on April 10 and 11; and Dr. Thomas Leitzel, president of the Technical College of the Lowcountry in South Carolina, will visit SFSC on April 15 and 16.
On the first day of each candidate’s visit, they will be given a tour of SFSC’s Highlands, Hardee, and DeSoto campuses, as well as the Lake Placid Center and the Hotel Jacaranda. A community reception will be held that same day in the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts lobby on the Highlands Campus. At this reception, members of the community, SFSC students, and college employees will have an opportunity to meet the candidate.
Two public sessions are planned for members of the community, college employees, and SFSC students on the second day of each candidate’s visit, one in Building B and the other in the Health and Science Education Center on the Highlands Campus. At the conclusion of each session, participants will be offered a form to complete so that they may give their impressions of each candidate.
The times listed in the schedule below will be consistent for all candidates.
