SFSC Presidential Search Screening Committee
The 25-member Presidential Search Screening Committee is comprised of individuals who represent the college district of DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands counties. They were selected to represent their particular communities, for their diversity in backgrounds and perspectives, and for their understanding of the college and its mission. They are made up of students, SFSC employees, trustees, and other members of the community. According to Tami Cullens, chair of the SFSC District Board of Trustees, “We particularly wanted people who have a great love and concern for our communities.”
The committee was charged with its responsibilities in a meeting with search consultant, Dr. Jeff Hockaday, on Dec. 5, 2012, at the SFSC Highlands Campus. The primary role of the committee is to narrow the field of presidential applicants for the trustees’ final consideration. Much of the committee’s work will occur in late February and March after presidential candidate applications are received.
