Students may receive scholarships from a variety of sources. It is the responsibility of each student receiving aid through the Financial Aid Office to report all scholarships to that office, regardless of the source.
The South Florida Community College Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) awards numerous scholarships to students attending the College each year. Scholarship applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. Although the specific criteria vary among the types of Foundation scholarships, students enrolled at least half time in an associate degree, credit certificate, or vocational certificate program may apply for a Foundation scholarship. Some areas of emphasis in qualifying for a Foundation scholarship include academic achievement (GPA of 2.75 or higher), financial need, residence, specific high school graduation, and enrollment.
Need is determined by FAFSA results, PELL eligibility, and/or SFCC Financial Aid Office. Almost all scholarships require the completion of the FAFSA at

Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be A.A. or A.S. degree-seeking and enrolled full time. Preference will be given to graduates of Avon Park High School and those applicants with a high GPA.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.75. Applicant must be an Avon Park High School graduate. Applicant must be enrolled on a minimum of a one-half time basis in a degree-seeking program at SFCC. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need. Preference will given to applicants with an expressed desire to pursue a degree in the natural sciences or elementary education.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.5. Applicant must be a resident of Highlands County. Applicant must be an American citizen. Applicant must be enrolled full time in an A.S., A.A. degree or vocational certificate program. Preference will be given to student with greatest financial need. Preference will be given to applicants in one of these categories: State-certified Fire Fighter, State-certified Paramedic, or a family member of one of these categories.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a Florida resident. Applicant must be a first-time enrollee at SFCC.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a female, a registered Democrat, and enrolling in either Nursing or Criminal Justice.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and GPA no lower than 2.75. Applicant must be enrolled full time.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and GPA no lower than C+. Applicant must be enrolled on a minimum of one-half time basis. Preference will be given to those with a grade between C+ and B-.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time nursing student at SFCC. Preference will be given to residents of the SFCC service area.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and GPA no lower than 2.0. Applicant must be resident of Highlands County and under the age of 21. Applicant must be enrolled full time.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be enrolled in any degree or certificate program, and enrolled on a minimum of one-half time basis. Preference will be given to Highlands County residents and those applicants with a high GPA.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.5. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be enrolled on a minimum of a one-half time basis in a degree or vocational certificate program. Preference will be given to applicant with demonstrated financial need.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.5. Applicant must be a permanent resident of Highlands County. Applicant must be enrolled on a minimum of a one-half time basis in a program (vocational or academic) offered by SFCC. Preference will be given to applicant with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to applicants who are family members of Knights or of ancillary organizations.
Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be A.A. or A.S. degree-seeking and enrolled full time. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need, with a GPA of 2.75 or greater, or applicants enrolled in a citrus or agriculture program.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.75. Applicant must be a resident of Highlands County. Applicant must be enrolled a minimum of one-half time basis in a degree or vocational certificate program. Preference will be given to applicant with demonstrated financial need. Recipients must agree to attend a meeting of the Rotary Club and provide an update on their college program.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be between the ages of 17 and 24. Applicant must be enrolled at least one-half time in a vocational program. Preference will be given to residents of Highlands County. Scholarship is not available to students intending to pursue a four-year baccalaureate degree.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be accepted as a full-time nursing student at SFCC. Applicant must profess a “good-faith” intent to seek employment in Highlands County upon graduation.
Applicant must demonstrate financial need and GPA between 2.0 and 2.75.
Applicant must have a GPA no lower than 2.75. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be enrolled on a full-time basis in one of the dental programs at SFCC. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.

Applicant must have a GPA no lower than B in high school and not lower than 3.0 at SFCC. Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be A.S. in Nursing degree-seeking or certificate in Practical Nursing seeking who intends to maintain enrollment on a full-time basis at SFCC.
Applicant must be a resident of the SFCC service area. Applicant must be A.A. or A.S. degree-seeking and enrolled on a minimum of one-half time basis. Preference will be given to applicant with a high GPA.
Applicant must provide evidence of academic promise. Applicant must be a resident of Highlands County and a graduate of Avon Park High School. Applicant must be A.A. or A.S. degree-seeking and enrolled full-time.
