CLAST Alternative
The College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) is no longer an exit opportunity for students to demonstrate their academic achievement. Florida Statutes allows for CLAST exemption if students “achieve a score that meets or exceeds a minimum score on a nationally standardized examination, as established by the State Board of Education in conjunction with the Board of Governors.”
Since 6A-10.0315 Florida Administrative Code recognizes the College Board ACCUPLACER as well as the SAT and ACT for assessing students college level skills, using ACCUPLACER (CPT) at score levels concordant with SAT and ACT for CLAST is acceptable for exemption. The concordant scores acceptable for exemption purposes are as follows:
| Reading |
ACT 22 |
SAT 500 |
ACCUPLACER/CPT 93 |
| Writing |
ACT 21 |
SAT 500 |
ACCUPLACER/CPT 105 |
| Mathematics |
ACT 21 |
SAT 500 |
ACCUPLACER/CPT 91 |
