3274 | Correctional to Correctional Probation
The Correctional to Correctional Probation Career Certificate (CC) program trains you for employment as a probation officer in the state of Florida, and it meets the state requirements as approved by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. If you hold a corrections officer certification, you may “crossover” to correctional probation. Upon successful completion of this occupational program, you will be eligible to take the state certification examination to become a certified parole/probation officer. You must attend all sessions of training and score a minimum of 80 percent on all examinations per administrative rule.
Special Admission Requirements
You must:
- Have a four-year degree.
- Be a certified corrections officer.
- Obtain authorization from the Director of Public Service prior to registering for all or part of this program.
- Complete the academy application process, only if you did not complete this application when applying to the college.
- Successfully pass a basic abilities test (additional fee) prior to admission.
- Submit to a background inquiry prior to admission (additional fee for fingerprint submission)
