Gatsby’s Getaway at the Jac We invite you to step back in time to the Roaring 20s at the Hotel Jacaranda as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the SFSC Foundation and 100 years since the “gracious lady” of downtown Avon Park began to be built brick by brick. The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine, all while kicking back and enjoying the tunes from Vivacity, a five-piece band with an extensive song list of music from the 1920s, perfect for the Gatsby’s Getaway and the prohibition era. So ladies, don your flapper dress, pearls, and feathers; gents, bring out the suspenders and spats — This event will be the cat’s meow of the season! Jacaranda Jubilee Join us for a festive evening of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, drinks, and music while viewing the Avon Park Christmas Parade from the veranda of the Hotel Jacaranda. We will showcase our student culinary chefs as they prepare and serve the hors d’oeuvres. Feel the holiday cheer as we kick off the season with this jubilee! Million Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Shootout The SFSC Foundation will be hosting our Eighth Annual Million Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Shootout event at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club. Participants will be battling it out at the driving range Thursday-Saturday for the top 12 closest to pin—our leaderboard—and will be asked to come back and try their best to swing for a hole-in-one on Saturday evening on the 18th hole of Deer Run. Event prizes on Saturday for closest-to-pin include awards of $750, $500, $250, and a Pro Shop gift card for the top four golfers closest to the hole who don’t make a hole-in-one. All golfers are welcome. The cost is $10 for a bag of 10 balls and you can purchase an unlimited number of bags. If you qualify on the leaderboard and then get bumped off, you can come back and battle your way back until the close of qualifying rounds on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. We thank you for your support as this event benefits SFSC Athletics.
