Make a Difference as a Panther Donor
The SFSC Foundation is continuing our mission of supporting the College, the students we serve, and our community. Here are ways your donation can make a difference.
How Scholarships Benefit Our Students
- Fill financial gaps that might prevent students from completing their studies
- Lessen the burden of work by giving students more time to focus on their studies
- Lessen the impact of tuition costs
- Decrease the loans that students would incur to complete their education
- Assist with books, school supplies, and other tools students need to be successful
- Add to federal and state assistance
- Teach students to be philanthropic by example
- Give students the assistance and confidence for a bright future
How Funding Helps Our College and Community
- Pave the way for students to be successful in completing their degrees so that they may excel as tomorrow’s leaders
- Engage, educate, and empower the Panther community, our future leaders, and the workforce in Highlands, DeSoto, and Hardee counties and beyond.
- Create security through the Partnership Project, a capital campaign initiative designed to fuel the vision of SFSC and ensure a bright, bold future for generations to come

Tax Break Initiative
You are allowed to make Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from your IRA, up to $108,000 per year. This is a process by which you, the taxpayer, directs the IRA custodian to distribute any amount up to a total of $108,000 per year directly to a Church or 501 (c) (3) charity. This allows you to satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requirement while at the same time providing you, in essence, a “deduction” by not having to report the RMD as income.
