The Highlands Career Institute is a unique learning environment that combines high school and college instruction on SFSC’s Highlands Campus. Because these students take regular college occupational classes, they should be able to demonstrate the same level of maturity and responsibility as any college student.

Typically, students spend half a day taking high school classes in Building L, then spend the remainder of their day in college classes alongside adult college students. Highlands Career Institute students are held to the same academic and behavioral standards as other college students.

Highlands Career Institute students enjoy greater freedom on campus but must demonstrate greater responsibility. Students who do not adhere to  SFSC’s behavioral standards may be withdrawn from the program.

When students enroll in the Highlands Career Institute, they must be prepared to adhere to their schedules and the rules established by the institute.
