Class Catalog: Personal Interest

SFSC offers non-credit personal enrichment course, workshops, hobbies, and special programs that enhance your quality of life or teach you new skills and hobbies. Classes include specialized art instruction, conversational Spanish, computer classes, healthy living, creative writing, digital photography, ballroom dance, Zumba, aquabics, and more. The cost of Community Education classes varies, depending on the length of the program and the materials required.

Lifetime Learners Institute

The Lifetime Learners Institute presents a series of educational programs and social activities centered around a variety of topics. Participants may register for individual classes or an entire season. Lectures, discussions, presentations, and optional field trips provide the structure of the programs. Heartland Senior Games

Each February, the annual Heartland Senior Games promote physical fitness, good health, and a competitive spirit among adults ages 50 and older. The top five finalists in each age and gender category qualify to compete in the Florida Senior Games state championships.

Parent Education and Family Stabilization

This four-hour class meets the Florida statute requirements for parents with minor children who seek a divorce in Florida. It focuses on the concerns parents may have regarding how divorce impacts their children. The class teaches parents effective ways of communicating with each other and making decisions in the best interests of children. It is offered monthly.
