Your Pathway to Become a Dental Hygienist
A Dental Hygienist works alongside a dentist to examine patients for signs of oral diseases.
Dental Hygienists are essential for patient care and:
- provide preventive care
- clean patients’ teeth
- operate dental equipment
- educate patients about oral health
SFSC’s Associate in Science in Dental Hygiene:
- is 88 credit hours
- takes approximately two years to complete
- prepares students for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE), the ADEX Dental Hygiene Clinical Examination, and the Florida Laws and Rules Examination
- is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
