Camp AdventureCamp Adventure

SFSC’s Camp Adventure is taking off June 13-July 29 with week-long programs that keep kids engaged and learning. Kids can attend all six weeks or any week of their choice. There is no camp the week of July 4.
 
Camp Adventure  introduces young people to career opportunities through:
  • Fun and interactive sessions
  • Games, sports, and swimming
  • Technology and art
  • Academic enrichment
  • Structured, supervised recreation
  • Program-related field trips to locations around Highlands County

Who Can Attend?

  • Camp Adventure: Must have completed kindergarten through grade five as of June 2.
  • Camp Adventure Too: Must have completed grades 6-8 as of June 2.

Price

$157 per week includes:

  • Early drop-off and late pick-up: 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. All campers should arrive by 8:15 a.m.
  • Camper meals made daily at the SFSC Cafeteria (breakfast, lunch, and snack)
  • Camp Adventure t-shirt
  • Structure curriculum with recreational time in the gymnasium and pool.
  • Optional field trip on Friday. Some trips may have additional fees.

Staff

  • All staff are certified in CPR and first aid.
  • Lead counselors have educational degrees.

June 13-17

Art Week. What does your art say? Art is fun, messy, and speaks its own language. We’ll discover the inner artist in all of us as we create one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by Pablo Picasso and Jason Pollock.

June 20-24

Derby Week. Which team will it be this year? Let’s prep our cars and get them race-ready as we zoom to the finish line. Friends and family are encouraged to cheer our race teams! (Thursday – Race Day)

June 27-July 1

Science Week. Not your typical science fair. We’ll test our team’s hypothesis as we get ready for the first-ever Camp Adventure Science Fair! Friends and family are encouraged to attend. (Thursday – Science Fair)

July 11-15

Culinary Week. Caribbean cuisine! Campers will explore foods from the various Caribbean islands and work together to get our “restaurant” ready for opening day. Campers will help prepare the meals and learn their roles as restaurant workers. Friends and family are encouraged to purchase tickets for our Caribbean cuisine lunch! (Thursday – Restaurant Day)

July 18-22

Community Week. Campers will learn about different organizations in the community that help children. We’ll select one organization that we will gather donations for and deliver them in person.

July 25-29

Celebration Week. Our last week will be full of games, wacky races, and a few surprises. It will be a great end to a fun-filled summer!

Art Week. Which artist is your favorite? Explore various styles of art and the famous artists that created them. We’ll apply some of those styles to our projects for our very own masterpiece.

June 20-24

Leadership Week. Small group activities will strengthen camper’s leadership skills and teach the importance of teamwork and good communication. Guest speakers will share information about how to become a leader in our schools and community.

June 27-July 1

SFSC Week. Campers will explore a different SFSC program each day, including our new digital forencis and firefighter program.

July 11-15

Wheel of Life Week. Sewing a button, learning to stitch, kid-friendly recipes, and balancing your money: these are a few of the life skills campers will learn and remember for a lifetime.

July 18-22
