A Paramedic responds to 9-1-1 calls for emergency assistance.  

Paramedics are essential for public safety and:

  • assess a patient’s condition and determine the proper course of treatment
  • establish and maintain airway and breathing
  • evaluate and interpret heart rhythms
  • administer medications

SFSC’s College Credit Certificate in Paramedic:

  • is 42 credit hours
  • takes approximately 11 months to complete
  • prepares students for certification as a Paramedic
  • is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs; the Florida Department of Health; Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Professions; and Council on Accreditation Emergency Medical Services Program (CoAEMSP)
