Through a pathway in English, you can take your advanced knowledge of reading, writing, critical analysis, and research into many fields such as English teaching, journalism, pre-law studies, editing, technical writing, or communication work.

An A.A. degree in English will cultivate important skills and gain access to:

  • knowledge of complex reading, analysis, and subject synthesis
  • the ability to succinctly and concretely express oneself in oral and written forms
  • development of information literacy, research, and comprehensive critical thinking skills
  • the possibility of further education through a B.A. degree

SFSC’s Associate in Arts in English:

  • is 60 credit hours
  • takes approximately two years to complete
  • can be started in high school through dual enrollment
